The other goals were to identify the most effective variables on the distribution of the species and to determine its ecological amplitude. The maps of twenty nine environmental variables were produced for the study area and 2413 presence points were extracted from D. mucronata vegetation type map with 3×3 km2 grids. We used presence data derived from Maxent model to determine the relative frequency of species distribution. The results indicated that seven out of 29 variables were more important for the species occurrence compared to the other variables. Precipitation of the coldest quarter (Bio19), mean temperature of wettest quarter (Bio8), and mean diurnal range in temperature (Bio2) were explained 50.6, 30 and 11.4 of the species occurrence respectively. According to the relative frequency of the species derived from the Maxent model, the potential ecological range of Bio19 was 102-273 mm and covers 96 % of relative frequency of the species distribution. The potential ecological range of bio8 was -4.2-10.4 °C and covers 98 % of relative frequency of the species distribution. CP - IRAN IN - LG - eng PB - rangelandj PG - 179 PT - Research YR - 2017
