Early stage of plant growth is an essential part of range rehabilitation or establishment of pastures which may need many treatments. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of adding nanosilicate potassium (0, 500 and 1000 mg/L) (NSP), effective microorganisms (1 and 2 %) (EM), water absorbent (0, 10 and 30 g/kg) (H) and manure (in levels 0, 100 and 200 gr/kg) (FM) on the growth characteristics of M. sativa in greenhouse. Statistical method was a completely randomized design with four replications. At the end of the growth period important indicator factors such as plant height, root length, wet and dry weights, plant volume, leaf area, seed number, percentage of seedlings, relative leaf water content, curtain stability index, electrolyte leakage, chlorophyll index and photosynthesis rate were measured. According to the results for the FM100 treatment highest amount of leaf area (51.40 cm2), photosynthesis rate (13.30 µmol/m2s), plant height (82.7 cm) are observed. For FM200 wet and dry weight of the plant were (100.35 and 23.26 gr/pot, respectively), plant volume (92.26 cm3) and root length (20 cm). The maximum plant establishment percentage (95.5%) has occurred in H30. In addition, the effect of treatments on all physiological characteristics of M. sativa (electrolyte leakage, curtain stability index, leaf relative water content and photosynthesis rate) was significantly meaningful except for chlorophyll index. The highest amount of electrolyte leakage (63.44%) was seen in EM1, curtain stability index (79.09%) in H30, leaf relative water content (87.74%) in NSP500 and photosynthesis rate (13.3 µmol/m2s) in NSP500. Therefore, these treatments could be used to improve the establishment and growth of M. sativa in rangeland restoration projects.
