Effects of chemical stimulators to development, support and resistant of Datura Stramonium medicinal plant under stress allelopathic components of Eucalyptus camaldulensis

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of chemical stimulators in improving seed germination of Datura Stramonium, in response to 5 concentration of Allelopathic extract of Eucalyptus camaldulensis (0, 5, 25, 50, and 75 %) under laboratory conditions. Pre-treatments were included: gibberlic acid (250,500 and 1000 ppm), and salicylic acid (100,200 and 300 mg/lit). This experiment was carried out as a factorial experiment based on a randomized completely design, with four replications. The results showed that seed germination, germination speed and seedling vigor of species were significantly decreased (P < 0.01) by increasing extract concentration of allelopathic compounds of Eucalyptus camaldulensis. The effects of this treatment were higher in un-primed seeds compared to the primed ones. Overall, the results of this study showed that seed pre-treatment with salicylic acid (100 mg/1) and gibberlic acid (500 ppm) enhanced the seed germination performance of Datura Stramonium. This treatment can be used to reduce negative allelopathic effects of Eucalyptus camaldulensis in the germination stage, and enhance the establishment of the species with increasing germination speed and growth of the species embryo.
