Identification and prioritizing of the effective factors on rangelands is very important issue. Presenting management strategies using multi criteria assessment methods and SWOT analysis in the Taftan marginal rangelands of Khash city is the aim of the study. For this purpose, initially, effective factors of rangelands sustainable use were identified by Delphi technique. Then these factors were prioritized through questionnaire, which answered by experts’ team, and hierarchical analysis method. For each rangeland, the strategic management method of exploitation was obtained through SWOT analysis in addition to the identification of the most important factors of each criterion, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Based on the results, drought and climate change is the most important threats to proper use of Taftan rangelands. Moreover, result showed that, in terms of management strategy, all studied rangelands are located in the offensive strategy area of SWOT Matrix. Based  on  this results, in the Martishan rangeland, the maximum - maximum strategy (strengths weight, 2.93 and opportunities weight, 3.01), for Kouteh rangeland maximum - maximum strategy (strengths weight 3.12 and opportunities weight, 3.13), and in the Yousefabad rangeland, the maximum- maximum strategy (strengths weight 3.09 and opportunities, weight 3.08 ) were identified as a suitable strategy for sustainable exploitation of rangelands. These results indicate that taking into account the current potential of the studied region and utilizing indigenous knowledge, the production and cultivation of medicinal plants and marketing in order to sell of rangeland sub-products, can be overcome the challenges of sustainable exploitation of Taftan marginal rangelands.
