Surface temperature is an important management parameter at the time of planning in various environmental sciences including natural resources. But the uneven distribution and small number of terrestrial data stations is the incentive of using remote sensing data. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the emission correction method of vegetation and soil cover using the NDVI index on OLI and TIRS Landsat 8 satellite imagery. Data were taken in September 2018 in Golestan province. The results showed that NDVI and LST were inversely correlated with -0/96, with vegetation values of R2 = 0/87 which can be used to obtain ground surface temperature. Also, the difference in determination of the maximum temperature obtained from the image, or LST calculated, is 2/9 ° C higher than the maximum data recorded in the synoptic and climatological ground stations in the region.
