Iran is located in the dry Belts of the world with an average low rainfall which calls for better watering systems. Attention should be paid to increase water efficiency in natural resources soils. Irrigation supplements such as Abyar and Absar has been highly regarded by researchers as a solution to the water scarcity. Although some researches have been done on the effect of these supplements on the irrigation cycle and characteristics of the growth of the plants, but study on the effect of the supplements on soil properties is rare. Therefore, the present study was conducted aiming at the efficacy of different concentrations of two water supplements irrigation on soil characteristics covered by
Atriplex canescens. Completely randomized design with three treatments and three replicates were used for the study. Concentrations of 1: 1000, 1: 2500 and 1: 5000 were the treatments and one untouched tract of land as control for a period of 5 months. Soil samples were taken to measured acidity, electrical conductivity, organic matter, lime, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium and sodium. The results showed that the use of abyar and absar significantly increases the electrical conductivity, absorbed potassium and magnesium by soil and reduces the organic matter, phosphorus and soil absorbing calcium. Also, the use of these supplements did not have a significant effect on pH, lime percentage, total nitrogen, absorbed sodium and potassium content of the soil. In general, the results of this study indicate that the use of aqueous and water-based supplements has had a negative effect on the chemical properties of the soil studied during the research period
